Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT
What brings you joy this time of year? Buying gifts for loved ones? Hearing Christmas music? Maybe you are filled with joy when you sit in your home with the Christmas tree all lit! Possibly you love driving around and looking at all the Christmas lights and that is a source of joy. Whatever it is that brings you joy this season, I hope you know that it is nothing compared to the joy that comes from God's greatest gift ever given, Jesus. May we find joy in our Savior. A joy that is eternal! The upcoming week is an important one for our students. They will join with the the other students in sharing God's message of love and a Savior to all who gather for our Christmas program. The choirs and band will be doing pre-service music. The sixth graders will have a recitation and a song. We also have two students serving as Mary and Joseph. A note came home a few weeks ago with reminds and information about the evening. The students in choir and band are asked to arrive a half hour early. Their preservice music will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Students are asked to dress in black pants or skirts and a solid plain red shirt or sweater. Girls can wear a solid red dress with black tights or leggings. No tank tops or spaghetti straps. Each family is also asked to donate 2 dozen cookies for the reception in the gym following the 6:30 performance. The two performances will be at 2pm and also at 6:30pm. We have been brushing up on our parts, so it is going to be a great night with the greatest message. We are on course to wrap up our current chapters before the Christmas break which is great! What is not as great about it, is that we will be having some tests as we get closer to the break. Also, I have been telling the students that next week's memory is a little bit of a long one and they need to study ahead of time since Tuesday is the program. Here is how it looks like it is shaping up: Wednesday the 14th - 2nd article of the creed and meaning Thursday the 15th - Literature Theme Three test Monday the 19th - Language test on Verbs Tuesday the 20th - Social Studies Test on Chapter 5 Wednesday the 21st - 3rd article of the creed and meaning Hope you have a great weekend!
