Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT

As we resume school on Monday there are a few things to remember this week. If we receive more snow this week, please send your child with the correct footwear and gear for the colder and snowier weather. Without boots, they will not be allowed to go in the snow. Without boots and snow pants, they well be limited in what they can do outside. Please also remember gloves, hats, and warm coats regardless of snow. We do not have a very long recess, but it definitely seems longer as it gets colder. We will be learning the books of the New Testament for memory on Wednesday. Again, spelling does not count. Also, we will have a social studies test on Wednesday covering chapter 4. This was a long chapter with a lot of information. For this reason, I will allow the students to use their notes for 10 minutes on the test. I would encourage students to keep working on learning those oral memory verses. Very few students have said any of the 10 verses for this quarter. Getting a few verses in the next few weeks, would be a great way to help them stay on schedule for finishing on time. In case you missed this on the news on Wednesday, Channel Four came out to cover the Kids Against Hunger event at Peace. Today we are thankful for sports. Without them we would have nothing to do. There are many sports and all of them are really fun. We thank God for sports. Tomorrow we join as a school to pack meals for Kids Against Hunger. This is a great even each year and the kids really enjoy helping others. Mr. Kennedy has declared that it will be a jeans day on Wednesday. Along with the jeans, the students may wear their red, "Here I am" t-shirts.
From November 21, 2015.
Today we are thankful for the weekend. We are thankful for the weekend because without it we would be very tired. We are also thankful for the weekend because it is the time that we can sleep in. Snow is on the ground, grocery stores are crowded, and the Christmas decorations are almost impossible to miss. It snuck up on me, but maybe you are not surprised that this week is Thanksgiving. I pray that you and your family truly have a blessed Thanksgiving and that we are able to remember on Thursday and everyday who is the Giver of all our great gifts.
"Thank God! Call out his Name! Tell the whole world who he is and what he’s done!" 1 Chronicles 16:8 (MSG) We have a short week, but it does have a few fun events as well as a few tests and quizzes. On Monday, we will be having a test on the novel Mainac Magee. On Tuesday, we will watch a movie that was made from the book. We will watch the majority of the movie in the morning and finish it in the afternoon. If you child would like to bring in a snack and drink for the movie, that would be fine. Please do not send in any sweets or desserts. If you are going to allow your child to bring in a pop, it must be caffeine free. Wednesday we will be doing our memory quiz of the books of the Old Testament. Spelling does not count on this quiz. The majority of our day on Wednesday is going to be packing meals for our Kids Against Hunger campaign. This is a great way to help those in our community and around the world. If you are able to join us and help out, please contact the office. With snow on the ground (if it makes it past today) please remember that your child will not be able to be in the snow unless they have snow boots. These boots must be different than any boot they may wear during the day. Also to roll around and climb in the snow, your child will need snow pants. |
