Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT
What would the last week of school be without a lot of activities and excitement? If that is what you are hoping for, we have it! First, I want to thank each of you for this school year. Thank you for sharing your child with me. I have watched them grow and learn in a number of ways throughout the year. I have learned from them throughout the school year as well. Your support and help have meant a lot to them and me. I hope that you have a great summer and wherever next school year takes your child, I wish them much success!
Research projects are done, handed in, graded, and will be returned to your child tomorrow. This project will count for half of your child's fourth quarter language grade. The students did well for this being their first time through the process. I hope they are pleased when they see their grade. DARE projects will be under construction tomorrow through Wednesday. We will be presenting our projects to our classmates, Officer Leslie, and any of you that can join us on Thursday starting at 11am. We will either be in the sanctuary or the gathering room, depending on scheduling. If you are able to make it to hear your child's presentation, we would love to have you. The sixth graders will be working until the end! Here are a few of the tests or quizzes coming up this week. We will not have spelling this week! We have one more written memory quiz on Wednesday and the students are still working on saying their oral memory. We will also have a language quiz on Thursday on prepositions. On Friday, we will have an auction to spend the remainder of our Kopper Kash. If you can contribute anything to the auction, please send your items in by Thursday at noon. Don't go crazy, dollar store items are all we are going for. One of the sixth grade families won a class movie at the auction and we will be watching that on Wednesday afternoon. A snack will be provided. The students who have all their missing work completed and handed in will watch the movie. If your child has work that is not completed, they will be working on that before they join us for the movie. Finally, cleaning out. We will be doing the majority of our cleaning out of our lockers and supplies on Thursday. There may be a few things left to take home on Friday. Please send in some extra bags with your child on Thursday to help transport the items home. Thank you again for a great school year!
