Tomorrow is our class Christmas party. We will be doing a variety of different activities in the afternoon. Please remember that you child can participate in our class gift exchange if they bring in a $5 gift card. Please wrap the gift card and send it with your student in the morning.
This week we will be participating in our Kindergarten through 8th grade Christmas program. There will be two service times at 2:00pm and 6:30pm. Please plan on joining us for one or both of those performances. Our choirs will be performing some preservice music ten minutes before the program begins. Then each class will have a Scripture verse and song to share. Finally, the band will be playing in the gym after the 6:30 performance while we enjoy cookies. The dress code for the evening was laid out in a note sent home on Friday. No jeans or t-shirts are allowed. If your daughter is wearing a dress or top that is a tank top, they need to wear a sweater over top of it. All skirts and dresses should follow the same length guidelines as dress code skirts and dresses. Students are asked to meet me in the church at 6:15 on Tuesday evening and you can pick them up in the classroom after the performance.
Our classroom Christmas party will be Thursday afternoon. Part of that party will be our gift certificate exchange. Please send a $5 gift card with your child on Thursday. The gift card should be for a boy or a girl. Please wrap it and send it in. On Friday, we will be having a Kopper Kash auction/sale. The students have accumulated a lot of Kopper Kash over the the course of the first few months of school. If in your shopping you find any small items that you feel the sixth graders would enjoy and you would like to donate them to the auction, that would be great. Any students who want to participate in the school spelling bee need to turn in their permission slip by Friday. At the time they turn the permission slip in, they will be given a word list to study for the spelling bee on the 7th of January. Finally, we will be having the following tests this week: NO SPELLING TEST THIS WEEK Tuesday - Literature Test Theme 3 Wednesday - Second Article and Meaning (its a long one) Thursday - Social Studies Test Chapter 5 Thursday is our day for shopping at Peace's Christmas Shoppe. If you would like your child to buy gifts for family members, please send in money with them on Thursday. We will be shopping from 2:15-3:00. It is also helpful if your child knows who they are buying for. This is an optional activity and the students are not required to participate.
Here is an update on the class Christmas party.
The party will be next Thursday, December 17th in the afternoon. We will play some games, do a craft, and the gift exchange. If your child would like to take part in the gift exchange, they must bring in a $5 gift certificate. This gift certificate should be for either a boy or a girl. We will not divide up by gender. Please make it a gift card that could be used by anyone. For example, some might want to buy a gift card for iTunes, yet not everyone has an apple device to use that. If you have any questions, please let me know.
We are still planning our Christmas party, but we do know that we will have a gift card exchange. Please purchase a gift card that has a $5 value from somewhere in the area. At the party we will exchange these gifts. I will let you know if the party will be on Thursday or Friday.
