Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT

The students have a book report due for Mrs. Neumeyer on Friday!
Like every Friday, this Friday is a jeans day with a Christian t-shirt. I am hoping the students will wear their camp tie dye t-shirt on Friday. This way we will be able to get a good group shot!
Although it is very hard for me to believe, we are entering the last week and half of the first quarter of sixth grade. Didn't we just start and unpack our new supplies? As we look to the end of the quarter there are a few things to be on top of: 1.) Your child has until the end of the school day on November 1st to complete all their oral memory. Most students have started and are getting serious about saying the verses, but some students are still dragging their feet. 2.) November 1st is the last day for the students to hand in any math assignments they would like to redo. After the quarter ends, they can no longer redo a first quarter assignment. Any assignment under 85% can be redone to improve their grade. Grandparents and Special Persons' Day is coming up very quickly. Our special guests are welcome at Peace on Tuesday, October 31st. In order to have adequate materials for the day, please fill out the RSVP form for me to know how many guests are coming with your child. You can fill the form out by clicking on the circle on the left. Book orders are due Monday. You can send in a check (made out to Scholastic) or you can order online at www.scholastic.com and use the class room code HHC88. If you order online, you will be able to pay by credit card. On Friday I sent out a sign up sheet for some items we could use in the classroom over the next few weeks. If there is anything on the list you can help with, please sign up for that item. You can view the sign up sheet by clicking here Quizzes this week: Wednesday - 5th and 6th Commandments and Meanings Thursday - Math Quiz on the first part of Chapter 3. We had such a great time at camp. The students did so well with all the activities and did not complain of the sideways rain! I was proud of the students and their behavior and interactions with each other. Thank you to all the parents who helped out by coming to camp with us.
Tie Dye t-shirts from camp - The camp recommends that you wash the shirt in cold water multiple times by itself before washing it with other items. I hope that we can all wear our shirts a week from Friday on October 27th. It will be a jeans and Christian t-shirt day, our camp shirts fit that bill for sure! This week is a short week. We have comfy for a cause on Monday. If you paid last week, you don't have to pay for this week. If you forgot about it last week, you can still have a comfy day with $5 donation. The end of the first quarter is fast approaching on November 1st. Many students have not started their oral memory yet for this quarter. That means they have until 1st to say 10 verses. Please help me encourage them to say them sooner rather than waiting to the last minute. Tests this week: Memory on Wednesday - 3rd and 4th Commandments and Meanings Although the conditions were not perfect, we had a good time at the Panther Prowl. This week we look forward to our time at camp! Looking at the early forecasts, it looks pretty good with a slight chance of rain! Please make sure you pack for all weather and temperatures. Below you will find an additional copy of the packing guide!
We would like to leave as close to 9 on Wednesday as possible. If you can have your child to Peace by 8:45 that would be great. They can come right to the classroom with their gear. We will do a few things, pray, pack up, and hit the road. When you are packing with your child, remember:
MONDAYS in October Your child can have a comfy cozy day each Monday in October for a $5 donation to Kids Against Hunger. They only need to bring their $5 in on Monday and it will cover them for each Monday in October to dress in comfy cozy clothes. For more information, see the flyer sent home last week or see the Panther Tales. This week we will have test on Chapter 2 in Math on Tuesday. There is no memory quiz this week, but the students should continue or start their oral memory! We have bumped our science test back a day to Thursday. This will allow for more study time. The study guide was given on Friday and also posted to Google Classroom.
