Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT
Wow, what a week. I don't have the words to thank you for the gifts, treats, time off, and kind words this past week. You all know how to make a teacher feel appreciated. Thank you for your kindness. It is a joy to be able to teach your children and I have learned from them so much this year!
The students' note cards are due on Wednesday the 10th. They will have another work session on Tuesday afternoon. Any student who does not have their 75 cards completed on Wednesday, will need to make plans to stay after school until they are done. I know many students are in track; if their cards are not done they will not be able to attend track until they are finished. Ms. Woods the computer teacher has said the students can type their papers on The 11th and the 17th in computer class. They should bring their materials with them on those days. Next Friday, May 12th the revised outline will be handed in. I am so proud of the students and how great their attitude has been during this project. A lot of them are so interested in their topic that they like to read and take the note cards! I am hoping that going through this process will help make their research and paper writing easier in the future. This week we started reading The Phantom Tollbooth in class. This book is full of figurative language and plays on words. We are doing a few activities throughout the book that tie in. Next Thursday is the musical. Some of the sixth graders are involved in the musical and some are not. We will be attending the 2:00 performance as a class. There will be a second performance at 6:30. Things to remember for the week: Wednesday - 75 note cards are due Wednesday - Memory - How can bodily eating and drinking do such great things? Friday - Revised outline is due
