Tell Them
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4 NLT
This week we join with other schools around the country and celebrate Lutheran Schools Week. It is a week of fun and activity, but also a week to really take time and thank the Lord that we have the gift of a Lutheran School to attend. A flyer went home on Friday with the dress days and activities for the week. In case it never made it to you, here they are: Monday: Religious t-shirt day (not the red send me shirt) and if they want to wear jeans they may do so for a $1 for Hearts for Jesus. Tuesday: Sweatshirt and Jeans day Wednesday: Here I am t-shirt day. Dress code pants on the bottom Thursday: Future so bright day - sunglasses, caps, crazy socks, bright colored shirts and school length shorts Friday: Comfy day This week the only two tests are memory on Wednesday (7th petition) and spelling on Friday PI DAY....We are just a little more than a week away from my favorite holiday Pi Day. Pi Day is March 14th (3-14) and celebrates math in the world around us. We will be doing all things circular and pi that day. The students have a variety of contests that they may choose to participate in if they would like. They have also decided that they would like a buffet of circle foods to snack on throughout the day. You will receive an email shortly that is a sign up to bring one of the items to school on Monday, March 14th. Some students would like to order circle pizza for lunch. If your child would like to be a part of that order, please send in $2 to school to help cover the cost of the pizza. Money is due by Monday, March 14th. They will get at least two slices of pizza and we will have lots of other goodies. If your child does not want to have pizza they can pack their own lunch or order the jets pizza from school lunch. **There are a few students who are glutten free, so if your child needs that type of pizza I will be ordering at least one glutten free pizza. The contests: Picture contest - the students were to find the pi symbol in their everyday surroundings. They were to take a picture of at pi symbol. They can email it to me before 11:59 on Saturday, March 12th. Make sure I know who it is from. If they need to bring it in on a flash drive they need to do that by Wednesday, March 9th. The winner will receive a prize the picture will be posted in the room. Digit Contest - the students have until Monday, March 14th to recite the digits of pi. Anyone who recites 50 or more will be added to my pi day hall of fame. Have a great weekend and look for the sign up to be coming your way.
